   I have been playing guitar for over 20 years.
   Like Slash said, it takes time getting used to because there are no chords or strings for that matter.
   It doesn’t add or take away from learning to play guitar. It’s just a cool game with some good tunes.

   My son is a guitar player and loves all the Guitar Hero games. It has improved the dexterity in his fingers a lot.

   I’ve never played a real guitar so I can’t really compare but from a few people that I’ve talked to, playing many of the songs in the game is harder than playing them on a real guitar.

   I started to play guitar, then i got Guitar Hero, and i got a lot better at guitar. So if your trying to learn guitar from Guitar Hero, you’ll get better at learning to finger the frets, but your going to have to learn how to read tabs or notes by yourself, but it’s not that hard.

   Guitar hero is okay to an extent. A lot of people play it for way too many hours a day and it’s really fake if you ask me. Buttons instead of chords, no strings, nothing really. Its for fun I know but realisticness of it is very lacking. The people on the screen dont even do any of the guitar things that you are doing to match the song. Most of them just stand there looking like ideots.
