To have the long, vapid story short- we have attempted to buy Camaros in the past, as well as have gotten burnt time after time. Being which we know zero about automatic work, we was naive, as well as paid for pieces of junk, flattering much. Most of the cars we paid for indispensable brand brand new engines, brand brand new transmissions, or had inhuman leaks of the little arrange which were formidable as well as costly to fix.
Right now, we am operative cleaning houses.
Should we attend propagandize to turn the mechanic- if not to get the pursuit as one, during slightest to be means to set up my own car, as well as do it right?
I do not have the income to outlay to have someone else set up the automobile for me. we can’t means it.
The usually approach we can suppose this operative out in my preference is if we turn an engine builder/mechanic. If we did this, afterwards we would be means to set up my own automobile only as we please.
However, we am not which mechanically inclined. we work improved in an bureau sourroundings with books as well as computers.
What should we do, since owning the Camaro competition automobile is my dream.

save up your money and buy a camaro ss
if you are thinking of going to a school to learn a skill just for a hobby why would you it would waste the time if your going in do it for a carrer
go to an auction like barrett jackson on tv and find one that way if it is on there they will not sell you junk
If owning a Camaro race car is your dream, you’ve got to make it a reality. Dive into it. Go to school, start working in a shop and learn to use your hands. Good luck
the best way is to jump right into the project & dont be afraid to ask questions
My son bought a pretty much “stock” Camaro from CarMax and got a good deal (with the monthly payments….). He has since added on mods like Behr brakes and put in a Turbo. You can do these things, but it takes money! Since you’re not mechanically inclined, you’ll have to pay someone else to put these mods on the car that you have bought from a reputable dealer. Go to school so you can get a better job and more money. Dreams need to be thought out, planned and worked on. Good luck!
One thing you can do is start going to local car shows/ cruise nights. You can meet some of the nicest car enthusiasts, and many are willing to share knowledge. While there is nothing wrong with going to school, some of the best education is hands on helping guys with projects. I have been working on cars starting with my father when I was old enough to see over the fender, and 30+ years later have restored, raced, rebuilt more cars than I can remember. One thing working against you, there are so many Camaro’s that have not been treated kindly, (beat on), you really have to know what to look for. This is where having many friends in the car hobby will help. They can help you find a good car to start with, and many of them will get their hands dirty helping a fellow car nut get a project going. Keep in mind a race car is never done, there is always something you will want to do different. I always use a twist on the boating analogy- a race car is just a hole in the road where we throw our money. But it’s a great hobby to be involved in, good luck.
Go for it, Fatdude…I used to be a disaster in dress design and fabrication because my mother was so excellent doing what I programmed myself never knowing how to EVEN attempt…well one day I said; “the heck with my doubt” and I began…now I can easily beat my own Mom, at Haute Couture!!!
Just go for it!!! Better do what I think you’ll be successful at doing…and set aside the rest!
Also, THANKS MILLIONS for your FINE answers to questions I post. You are a good man, in my estimation.
Stay that way, yeah???
Your friend and contact, Grecia.
The chevy engine and cars are easier to work on than alot of other makes.
Even though your not mechanically inclined, you can build one your self with alittle help from internet sites, books, mags, etc.
I would recommend sign up for car craft and chevy hi performance mags. Theres alot of helpfull info, tips, tricks, tech in them
Then join some internet message boards like nastyz28, thirdgen.org, etc
Maybe even take a small auto shop course at a local trade school.
Now when it gets to the car.. DONT try to buy a “race car” or built high performance car… Alot of times those are someone elses prob… Most time if its a high performance car and running good the owner aint gonna sell it, or sell it for a good price.
Start out with a mostly stock car thats running and driving.. Drive it with your modding it and working on it so you don’t get out of heart..
Be ready for a long term build though. A good start to end high performance car build will take 3 to 5 years..
Get a job working at an auto repair shop and learn first hand. Plus remember you get what you pay for so learn first then look for the right car. Stop getting burned cause you dont know
