theyll train you then put you in infantry or supplies.
Once you take your ASVAB test, you will get a list of all of the jobs you qualify for. If diesel mechanic (or light wheeled mechanic MOS 63B) is on the list then you can select that when talking with your counselor & the Army will train you on working on the equipment
You can enlist as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic (MOS 63B). You don’t need to know how to be a mechanic or have any experience. The Army will train you to do that job. You can even get ASE certified in the Army and you can obviously use that out of the military later. If you got deployed you would be fixing vehicles like Humvee’s etc. There are other jobs that fix other vehicles like heavy trucks etc. Basically the Army will train you for whatever job you pick out. You don’t need experience before hand.
They will train you, but do your research, look into becoming an Officer or a Warrant Officer. Enlisted soldiers are excellent (and work very hard but very underpaid for the work they do). But getting promoted up into the higher ranks E-6 and above may be difficult as you progress in years in the military, you must maintain your continuing education. As an officer you can be over an entire motorpool. You can definitely use those skills in the outside world and if you get deployed, those skills as mechanic will be greatly needed. Good Luck!!!
try the Air Force – you will have better training and will not face deployment to fight on the front lines
you will not need prior training since the AF will train
