  2. Took awile to get here and they put a huge sticker on the front and back that had the website info on it. I didn’t pay them so they could use my book as free advertising. That made me angry, but other than that and a few wrinkled pages, it’s a good book.

The problem with this book is it’s underlying assumption that the reader has a fair background knowledge of static’s and engineering. Each chapter starts off with non threatening explanations and then suddenly jumps into examples(not enough examples) which are hard. One minute it ’s explaining A and B and the next moment it’s expecting you to understand Shakespeare. There is no slow transition and NOT ENOUGH WORKED THROUGH EXAMPLES. When will authors understand that students like nothing better than easy , simplified explanation followed by 5 examples???!!! The more worked out examples the better. I paid a lot of money for this book and have to pay a whole lot more to get another book to do what this book should have done.

I have used both the Statics and Dynamics portions of this book and I have a theory that this book was written so that students would not be able to learn without having direct help from an Engineer. I was not able to learn anything from this book in a resonable amount of time. I wish my Univ. would start using a different book ASAP.
